Two Reasons They Don’t Allow Firearms At Work!
There are two reasons Firearms Aren’t Allowed At The Workplace – “Us vs. Them”
Almost daily I hear some form of “Us vs. Them”, whether it refers to clients vs. the company, or departmental conflict such as field vs. office, engineering vs. manufacturing or purchasing vs. vendors. The solution is actually readily available but most people are not aware that they can actually analyze it and adapt for better results. Which leads to insanity – doing the same old thing time after time and expecting different results.
Imagine a company with ten managers, or a ten person department in a larger organization. Now imagine that each manager or employee racks up just one hours worth of unproductive conflict per week for a year. It takes two to tango and each argument is like a shot fired. That is the equivalent of an employee firing one round every two hours every day of the year. Four bullets a day. What are the odds that one of those might connect? Want to bet they already are? What would you do to minimize that?
When people aren’t clear about what’s expected of them, when they don’t feel appropriately valued they draw and fire. Help is available when the noise dies down and you hear someone cry out. Let me know.
